Mission & Values
The mission of New Focus is threefold. To support, educate, and provide services that will empower families. To provide a safe place to talk, find professional support, and give support during group settings. New Focus’s approach is holistic, and consideration is given to the whole man and his or her systems. Healthy emotions, body, and recreational life foster good mental health. Therefore, we intertwine strategies to foster wellness in all these areas. With that end goal in mind, we value Confidentiality, Patience, and unconditional Positive Regard.
The strength of counseling is a foundation of safety, and feeling safe results from a good therapeutic relationship fueled by confidentiality.
It takes lifestyle changes and developing new habits for someone to overcome certain mindsets, behaviors, or perceptions. An essential component of this practice is modeling patience with every client. We also encourage them to take time with themselves as they navigate through the process of shifting their focus.
New Focus is a judgment-free enterprise. This is where individuals are allowed to express their issues in a safe environment, knowing that no matter what is discussed, they are not being judged. That is why we value unconditional positive regard, because everyone must feel accepted.
